All the things!

When I feel like this it’s really easy for me to lose a whole day to procrastination. Instead of tackling my intimidating to-do list I end up scrolling mindlessly through my Facebook newsfeed, disappearing into an internet rabbit hole.

Doing everything but things that will help me see the wood for the trees. I’m sure you can relate.

Stop overwhelm and procrastination derailing your day

Thankfully over the last year I’ve made a point of educating myself about how to tackle overwhelm and procrastination, or at least stop them from derailing my whole day. Yes, sometimes the best thing you can do is close your laptop, take a walk or have a duvet day on the sofa binge watching The Good Wife.

But, that to-do list ain’t gonna get any smaller by itself so in the end you have to put your big girl pants on and get stuff done.

Here’s a quick video about what I did today to try and get past that feeling of having no flippin’ clue where to start.[/fusion_text][fusion_youtube id=”6qHX5H2KQc8″ width=”853″ height=”480″ autoplay=”no” api_params=”” class=””/][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” class=”” id=””/][fusion_text]The blog post I refer to in the video is by the lovely Kathryn Brown of Creating Your Plan. She’s got a wealth of other really helpful posts and ideas on her site so it’s well worth bookmarking.

So, what do you do when you’re overwhelmed? I’d love to get some more tactics to add to my overwhelm arsenal!

Ta-ra for now!

    • My pleasure Kathryn. Your site is full of helpful strategies like this, thank you for writing about it in the first place!

  1. Emma! I love you on video. LOVE. This was a great one and I couldn’t agree more about brain dumping everything. I do that at the end of every day actually…so I know what I need to focus on first thing in the morning and I can rest easy with a clear plan for the coming day.

    • You’re too kind Heather! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! Much appreciated. I definitely see how the brain dump at the end of each day could be super effective. So important to clear the head! Will try doing that too!
